PC Lalli

TRIBUTES have been paid to a serving Metropolitan Police officer who collapsed and died on his way home from duty.

PC Sahib Lalli, 38, was found collapsed in Trafalgar Square at about 6am on Friday morning (27 November) and was treated at the scene by paramedics from London Ambulance Service.

He was taken to a south London hospital where he later sadly died.

Paying tribute, superintendent Ray Rogers from Westminster police said: “PC Sahib Lalli was an extremely popular and very well-liked officer.

“He had an exceptional record in response policing and had worked across many different teams, including neighbourhood policing and operations in Leicester Square.

“Everyone is shocked by Sahib’s tragic death at such a young age. Our thoughts remain with Sahib’s family at this difficult time.”

A spokesman for the Met Police Federation said: “Our thoughts are with PC Lalli’s family, friends and colleagues at this time.”
